Since 70% of sold iPhones were the Pro models, it’s evident that many people were looking for features like a high refresh rate screen. Apple still wants to focus more on the Pro iPhones, so the upcoming iPhone 15 and even the iPhone 16 will not ship with high refresh rate screens (120Hz ProMotion display). To change the refresh rate of your display: Launch the Start menu, search for Settings and click on the Best match.’. From the sidebar menu, click on System and then select the Display tab. Under the Related settings tab, click on Advanced display. You should now see a dropdown box next to Choose a refresh rate, select the desired rate, and With the iPhone 14 Pro series, the ProMotion display can even drop the frame rate down to 1Hz. This kicks in when the screen is static, such as when reading. Since the refresh rate can dynamically change between 120Hz and 1Hz depending on the application, it conserves power, and consequently, improves battery life on the iPhone 14 Pro models too.
The faster processor and higher refresh rate has me leaning towards the Pro (but) I'd love to know whether or not the difference in speed/performance is noticeable enough to justify the £200 price difference between the two.
