Hmm. Have tried on all three shoes and have purchased and returned the mach 4 and Pegasus 38. To put briefly, none of these are my favorites. The Mach 4 was my first experience with Hoka. While it is a reasonably light shoe, I found it to feel awkwardly/poorly constructed relative to Nikes and slightly too small heel to toe.
Letā€™s talk about that last one a bit. The opening to the shoe is HUGE! For someone that has smaller ankles, I wasnā€™t sure how that was going to work for me. But, the shoe cupped my heel just fine, without issue. Shop HOKA Mach 2. The Bad. This shoe is $140, compared to the $110 of the Cavu 2, and Iā€™d say without any added benefit.
3.Fit and Sizing. Hoka Mach 5 - The Mach 5 fits true to size and is not as narrow as the Clifton 8. Itā€™s not available in additional widths. Hoka Clifton 8 - The toe box of the Clifton 8 is wider than previous versions but in general the Clifton 8 has a narrow fit so order the wide version if you donā€™t have narrow feet.
